A free zone is not one product

Free zone company setup is a path, not a single package that fits every founder. Each free zone authority licenses its own activity list, office options, and visa rules. Choosing the zone before you know the activity usually creates rework.

This note lists the decisions. It does not rank free zones, and it does not quote fees or processing times. Those belong on the free zone setup page and the jurisdiction pages after your activity is clear.

Questions to answer first

Write down the activity, who the customers are, and whether the work must happen on Dubai mainland. A free zone licence is a poor default when the operating model needs mainland contracting or a mainland premises from day one.

Also note how many people need visas and what kind of desk or office the authority expects for that activity. An office choice that looks cheap can be the wrong facility for the licence.

Use the setup page for the file

When those answers are written down, open the free zone setup service and compare authorities in the jurisdiction finder. If mainland access is the real requirement, switch to the mainland formation path instead of forcing a free zone licence to cover it.

Cost still varies with activity, authority, premises, and visas. Use the cost planner to explore a setup. Do not treat a headline package as the price of your file.

Check this against your setup

Share your activity and whether you are looking at mainland or a free zone. We will tell you what to confirm next.
